What kind of Hp #'s were you running. Seems to be kind of a hit and miss kind of thing. Know to guys with LBZ's above the 600hp, one has cracked a piston twice, and one has not had any problems. I think alot of it is the diference in tuning and set up, not HP #'s. Idaho Rob is up there in Hp, but utilizing a twin set up and has ahd no problems yet that I know of. Good luck with the build and hope you get to salvage the block. Everytime I hear of another one letting go I cringe a little.

I certainly wouldn't let my brother borrow my truck again. Way to coincidental that he leaves it and the instant you start it up, it acts up. I would call BS, but I know dealing with families is different.

Have you removed your race tune and tried it? Might be an injector issue (hopefully!!) You haven't been messing with any fuses lately? I've read of guys finding issues in the fuse block. You may also want to see if it bounces around when you check the balance rates for cylinder to cylinder. How does your oil look? Any coolant?

or maybe check for a loose crankshaft sensor reluctor. Not common on an LBZ, but you never know! Changing the ole fuel filter trick?

Sorry man...

Didn't need to remove the tune, just pulled the oil fill cap and watched exhaust pulsing out

I was running the race tune when it happened, ran 12.9 with that tune so well into the 500 range for HP. The truck has been through Three different BETA programs, abut 6 different tuners and 2 different EFI tuners, so I don't think tuning has a whole lot to do with it. Some are just better than others. I think I have seen almost every major tuner, efi tuner etc... have a piston failure, and I believe JoshH cracked a piston in his 06 LLY with EFI and MPI twins...

Stock Bore SoCal Pistons in hand as long as the block is spared, if not, then OS SoCal pistons will be ordered if the block is good enough to bore.

Get one of the 7.1 socal stroker kits, that would be nice. Are you 100% sure that it has a cracke piston, If so I hope your block is salvagable. I hope I never have to go through this, All I have ran is the PPE 225 tune so I am hoping and thinking it will be fine.

Did he run it with the lift pump off?

Possibly a cold start and he hammered on it.
