i just bought a 2004.5 its got the LLY in it...just recenty i was at a stop light, my girlfriend noticed some white smoke coming from the exhaust. i took it to a friend he put a computer on it.. the truck isnt throwing any codes and it only smokes when idling in gear. if i put it in nuetral or park then the smoke quits.... any ideas? when i see white smoke i think head gasket blown? but if that was the problem it would smoke all the time righ?

 

sounds like bad injectors but could also be the EGR cooler leaking coolant into the intake but thats not as common on the LLY as it is the 6.0 powerstroke

i would check injector balance rates with it in gear since it seems to make a difference

any cylinder plus or minus 4.0mm3 in gear most likly means bad injectors

 

thats what everybody else ive talked to says.. i was kinda hoping it was just some crap in the fuel or crappy fuel but all signs are leading to injectors now
