Default No power steering or brakes

My brother went to leave in his 02 lb7 crew 4x4 an hour ago and had no power sterring and the brake pedal went to the floor. Both fluids are full. I don't know much about the hydroboost system, don't know if thats the problem or if a bad power steering pump would have something to do with it. No play or noise in pump pulley. The only thing I found in a few minutes of looking in the dark and raining cats and dogs was a big 40 amp in the big block of like 1" fuses toward the engine side of the fuse panel that was labelled stud was blown. Any ideas? Thanks, Kurtis

there is a check valve that messes up on the pump sometimes.

mine has done that to me once, i had to keep the engine rpms up above 2000k rpms to even have a chance of turning.

but also a broken shaft will stop your brakes and steering to stop working.

replace the pump, theres 5 bolts iirc holding the pump on there 3 of which are hiding under the pulley. oh yah might want to replace that fuse

The PS pump controls both systems. Sometimes the pressure valve will stick, a swift jab of the brake pedal while the truck is running will make it work again.

Most of the time it's a broken shaft in the ps pump though.

Replace the fuse, it controls the + to the 7-way trailer plug. It has nothing to do with the PS though.
