Default Reset or quick learn the allison transmission

I recently installed a ppe xcelerator programer on my 2002 duramax HD 2500. I don't understand what the (transmission reset) quick learn is suppose to do for the trucks transmission?
Can any body explained to me what this feature does.
Any feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks
Gary

The allison has a preset shift timing that is further adjusted by driving style/power etc. by reseting the TAPS it puts the TCM in an accelerated learning mode. Definitely reset them anytime you raise the power levels. You should take it easy for a while after you reset it give it time to learn, slowly working up to full throttle.
