I'm not saying this to be mean or belittle you, but you're in over your head.

You need to stop wrenching on the truck and either have someone who knows how to work on these trucks fix it or pay a shop to do it.

It's not very often I make this kind of recommendation, but in this case its appropriate.....

What do you mean, I'm never home and never updating this thread, its really hard for me to update it on my phone, I'm a diesel mechanic for a trucking company, I dont work to much with injection pumps but I do know how all of this works, I'm not in over my head, I did everything you guys have said, I have checked everything I have fuel TONS of fuel to the input line of the pump i took the manifold off and even checked to make sure the hose running from the filter to the pump wasn't clogged, i hot wired the lift pump, I bled everything, I cracked the injectors, I unplugged the glow plugs and cranked it, I tested the glow plugs, I checked the solenoid, I checked inside the tank, I changed the fuel relay, I checked and traced every piece of wiring, next I took the manifold and off and tried cranking to see if the pump turned (because in my eyes it should turn when you crank it) seeing as it is mechanical. it did nothing so I pulled it. There is no other explanation besides its the pump. I turned the pump up 1/4 turn and I'm guessing I froze the thing up. The front of the pump is turning but my question is shouldn't that turn the shaft at the input side too. Is there a gear in the middle that has maybe sheared. I sucked a lot of dirt and stuff out of the tank when I ran it out of fuel, makes sense to me that this dirt could have broken something. If not either way the pump is probably done for. I am actually on a computer for Sunday so please get back to me. I will be able to actually explain more and talk to you about it.

so youve pretty much figured out that everything works but the IP.

therefore, you probably need an IP

Short answer:

No.

Swapping to a DS4 from a DB2 would be a nightmare in and of itself.

Given the amount of trouble you're having with troubleshooting a simple mechanical DB2, you really, REALLY, REALLY don't want to go there.....

No ones helping me troubleshoot the db2

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

No one has told me what to look for on the db2 besides the stuck linkage and the inlet filter and the selenoide which I all chekced

There's no further you can go with a DB2 without tearing it apart.

You need some very specific test equipment for that.

Well, not to tear it apart but to properly reassemble it.

Disassembled:

(that's from a ford, but same "S" different pile)

Test equipment like so:

And that is definitely over your head because it's over mine and I've got a list of letters and qualifications at the end of my last name that can choke a horse....
