Default Is this blazer worth it?

Looking at an 86 cucv blazer, 12 volt converted, 38k mi, good shape. Was running good, then died in his driveway, he hasn't tore into it at all to try to see what happened, but it won't start.
Is it worth $1500??
Thanks!

even a gas full size blazer like that in crap condition would go for more then that around here. price out a used 6.2 and see if you can justifiy changing the engine or injection pump if it ends up being blown up. it could just be a simple problem too though. if i had the time and the money for one of those and it appeared in decent shape i would buy it. i dont know what is different from the civilian ones, and one can assume those are hard miles on it, but i have always liked those full size ones anyway. im sure while it was in government service it had the crap maintained out of it. i had an '99 crown vic police interceptor and it was an awsome car. everybody told me i was insane to buy a car that had the absolute ***** drove off it for 100,000 miles before i got it. funny thing was i drove the ***** off it for another 100,000 miles and drove it to the wrecking yard still running. if i had bought a $500 intake manifold i probably would still be driving the stupid thing

if you know the guy and trust him your probably alright. crank it for 10-15 seconds, listen for funny noises and see if there is white fuel vapour coming out the exhaust, if there isnt any its not getting fuel, if they converted it to 12 volts they might have messed something up and the fuel solenoid might be stopping the injection pump from getting fuel. could just be a bad lift pump too. if you know for sure it was running good before it likely is somthing simple and possibly cheap.
