FYI. New cp3 would come with a new regulator

Cp3 could be had for about $800 and injectors for another $1600

I think yes

I have 2002 duramax. Have owned it since new. Has 330,000 miles on it now. Just dropped maybe $1,000 in it over the last couple of months replacing worn ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, radio, speakers etc. I see no reason this truck won't go 500,000+ miles. I plan to hit 400k on mine and maybe replace it with a new duramax then. That should take another 3 years.

Anyway, I'd have absolutely no problem dropping $3k or so into this truck knowing that one payment on a new one will be close to $1,000.

Theres no way I could spend a 1000 a month on a car payment. Fix up the one you have then search for a good used one with 100k on it.
