1993 GMC 6.5TD Injection Pump
Hello All,
I guess I had posted a thread regarding my truck starting hard when its hot, and seems it is the pump do to the cold water treak fixing the problem. Now, since the pump was rebuild by a diesel shop, year and half ago, where could I find reliable vendor who sells this Injection Pump. I am in California at the moment, and really don't know to many places locally, but don't mind buying on line. I just don't understand why the Ip didn'
t last longer than this, or maybe its time to buy another truck. Sorry I dropped $1500 for the rebuild and install, so kind of frustrated.

What kind of fuel pressure are you running to the injection pump or have you ever ran it out of fuel? If the fuel pressure is low or you run it out it will shorten the life of the pump. It also depends on the quality of the pump you got or fuel you are getting. If it was me I would run some 2 stroke oil in every tank of fuel.
I don't know the pressure, I never run out of fuel but been using the blue Stanadyne formula instead of the purple formula. How much 2 stoke oil do I add, and just the oil without anything else. I wonder would the oil get the fuel filter dirty faster. Thanks for the help.
Heres a link posted in a different area by Dr. Evil that compares the different fuel additives and mixture ratio. The oil shouldn't dirty the fuel filter and quicker.
