Question Post injection pump isntall issues.

Hello I have a 6.2l engine and replaced the injection pump. I used the method of turning the crank by hand with a breaker bar and removing the three bolts from the old pump throught the oil spout port. This worked well for removal of the bolts and the gear turned as the crank was turned but once i alligned the pin and first bolt as well as the timing marks in the top of the pump I have hit an issue. Now when i turn the crank by hand or even bump the engine a bit the pump gear does not move no matter what I try and i cannot place the second two bolts back in my pump. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Loosen the bolt you have in or remove it completely and be sure that the pin in the IP drive flange is inserted in the oval hole and not one of the round bolt holes.

The IP will probably need to be removed to confirm you have things correctly aligned.

Thank you for the input. When installing the IP I lined up the pin with the oval hole using an inspection camera and the first bolt as well making sure the threads where centered and the bolt threaded with ease. it was the next step rotating the IP gear that presented the issue, the gear no longer turns when the crank turns. As far as i can tell I have no other option but to remove the water pump and timing cover to reset the timing.

Something is for sure amiss because there should not be any issues with rotation that way.

If the crank does turn but IP driven gear does not you may have a sheared cam keyway and that is bad news because you may also have bent valves?
