Default Need help with starting problem

Hi there i have a 1996 GMC Suburban 6.5 diesel and it starts to be out of electrik but the charge is fine on the voltage on the dash it is beetween 14 & 15 volts.

I have put in new batteries but now it is just a clik in the starter when i try to start up Engine

so i think the starter is the problem and i need to know which other car has the same starter i can use because we have lot of pickups here in Iceland but not so many Suburbans

Please send me some Info i am out of Car and i can´t be with out driving around

all the 6.5 diesel starters are the same. A ~92-2000 chevrolet C or K 2500 is the most likely application.

Have you checked your electrical grounds?

Have you done a screwdriver test? Grab a big screwdriver and try touching it between the big terminals on the solenoid. It will make a spark and fireworks show, but if it starts, that means your solenoid is out.

if the starter is broken off and glued to the block it will probably need a new block but that us in very extreme cases. try what Fast CR told you and that will probably work

Grounds are very crucial for 6.5 need to make sure all are correct, ignition switches are more prone to fail than starters, since starter is out test it, but make sure all gnds not just the main ones are clean
