Default looking to possibly buy 86 suburban 6.2 diesel

Hi all, I'm thinking of buying an 86 suburban with the 6.2 and would like some input on these vehicles as far as there weaknesses and strengths. Has anyone run biodiesel thru one and what kind of mileage do they get??? I believe the vehicle has around 165,00 miles and is two wheel drive, they are asking 3000.00 is that a fair price?? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems to be a pretty hefty price for a 2wd with high miles on a 6.2.

Has it been run on synthetic oil it's whole life? Do they have a record of oil changes?

Good quality, well refined Biodiesel is fine. Waste vegetable oil is not.

Appreciate the response. What do you think would be a fair price?? I'm mainly lokking to get one with a good body and interior and eventually drop a 12 valve in it.I'm not too worried about having a lot of power(that's what the trucks for)I just want something reliable and gets decent mileage

Actually that body style is my favorite. If I had the time and money I would do something similar and add some of the newer creature comforts. I liked them because they hold more. You cannot get as many pieces of insulation or anything else in the newer tapered body styles

Price all depends on what you need or want. I'd look for a rust free Burb that has features you want and go from there.
For something like you just talked about I would only go about $900 for. Not being 4 wheel drive and having high miles.

I've been running soy diesel since the 90's. From what I have heard there is difference in quality of bio-diesel depending on where you are from or if you process it yourself. Some guys do a far better job processing and washing the bio product than others
