Hey guys, thinking about buying my first vehicle here soon within the next month. I'm an EMT so I'm not raking in the money but I'm looking to spend about $16,000-$18,000 if you guys know of any trucks in that range feel free to post them on here, I'm in southern Ohio. Anyways, I've had my eyes set on this 2006 F-250 6.0 turbo diesel V8, but I have heard such a bad rap on the 6.0 engines and how terrible they are and then some say they are great. Is there any truth to this ? Or are they actually pretty decent ?

I'm not talking from personal experience here but... I've only ever heard bad things about both the 6.0L and the 6.4L. You can 'bullet proof' them but it's not cheap. I personally would not buy a 6.0L, my mechanic also thinks the 6.0L is a piece if that's worth anything.

You'll be sorry. I did that, and I paid for it BIG TIME! Youre better off looking for a 7.3 PSD or the ol' tried and true cummins.
