Default Trouble statrting

Hello,

Im having some issues with my 97 chevy 6.5TD 202,000 miles.

Problem is it will crank for about 5 sec if not more before it starts. It does this every time i turn if off and go to start it up again. Things that were done. new starter, glow plugs, GP relay, lifter pump?? ( on frame rail), fuel filter. The previous owner did the relocate of the fuel mod? new batteries.

I can hear the lifter pump making noise as im waiting for the (wait to start) light to go off.

after it starts it runs good. Never dies or anything

Thanks a lot

Get the local parts house to check it for trouble codes.

Could be a crankshaft position sensor problem-AC Delco ONLY for CPS!

Another problem that is worse when engine is warm is a worn out injection pump.

Thanks for the reply. it had 2 codes. abs sensor and speed sensor all were replaced and computer reset. If i turn it off for a few sec it starts up fine, just seems if it sits for more than 15 min it does it. maybe ill just replace the cps and see if that helps. I know injectors havent been changed in a while. Could that cause it?
