Default gelling issues

So i apologize if this is a repost my phone freaked out when i tried posting this the 1st time and where im at i have crappy service. I noticed the last couple of days ive had a lack of power. It bogs and sometimes stalls. i have an old 82 6.2. Its been real cold like -20 with the wind chill. Im new with diesels and yes i put diesel 911 in it. I may hav jus got a bad batch of fuel but its still givin me a hard time an the fact that it wont stay at op temp doest help any...ive heard/seen ppl using cardboard in front of their radiators but ive never done this..wud that help keep heat in my engine bay and help prevent gelling while driving....it seems to idle fine but bogs while driving....if so how much of the radiator shud i block off and where wud b the best spot to block it??? Any other tips or tricks r welcome too...i just want my truck on the road again....any help is good help thanks

Diesel 911 does not prevent fuel gelling,it just gets fuel that has already gelled to flow and helps with water in fuel.

You need to add another anti gell formula to the fuel.

Perhaps you got some summer fuel that gells much faster than winter diesel?

As for the cardboard, you would be better off installing the proper AC Delco thermostat.
Aftermarket thermostats are unreliable.

Well i sent my ol lady 2 a different gas station 2 fill up 1 of my jerry cans with #1 diesel last nite while i was at work dumped that in my tank 2day and blocked off half the radiator with cardboard cuz my stat is good and functional but like i said it wudnt get 2 op temp and it seems 2 b running alot better.......i jus hope i didnt thermal shock my engine it still surges every now an then....i called the gas station i usually fill up at they sell #2 only an mix it for winter....im not filling up there during the winter unless u guys think antigel will help in mixed fuel thanks

So every nite b4 i leave work i go outside an start my truck so it warms up while im finishing up inside. When i came out it was loping/surging at idle its running again thats a plus but it bogs and possible surges while driving its almost like it bogs drops a gear then runs wide open....very sketchy on icy roads....is this still a symptom of gelled fuel or cud it possibly b another issue

Most people run additive in every tankful. The new fuel does not have enough lubricity.

I run SchaEFFER'S Summer and winter additive, Amsoil Cetane boost, gasoline - one gallon gas to 300 gallons diesel, White Power service and ashless 2 stroke oil
