Here's another stupid question. Does the LP get a ground from the frame bracket or the black wire on the connector?

I jumped power to the LP from the radio like you said. It didnt kick on. I put a test light on the black wire with my jump till hooked on the other side and power was flowing through.

if the black wire is ground my pump would have to be fried right?

The LP is grounded through the black wire.

If you put power to the other wire and the black wire lit the light, the ground is bad or broken-follow the black wire to an area along the frame to it's ground location or the break and repair it.

Could be that your ops is still good.

Well the pump is fried for sure. Started tinkering with the 4wd today and found out the actuator is also toast (started smoking when I replaced the fuse)

So I started inspecting wires and cleaning grounds. Come to find out the battery cable running to the starter was a foot too long. The excess had been stuffed between the exhaust and the frame. It had a large bare spot where it had been shorting out. The copper was melted halfway through!

No damage to the battery or starter though. I hope this solves my electrical issues.

Sound like your well on your way to figuring it out,the 6.5 can test your patience but after you get it figured out it's a good motor.

This 92 would have a all mechanical injection pump correct? No pmd issues to worry about?
