that is why after you shoot, them you hang them upside down in a tree, slit the throat, and skin them out......
i dont cook it whole.....takes too long and too much B.S......skin and gut it completely then break out your chain saw and use canola oil instead of bar oil and split it down each side as close to the back bone as possible then cut your front and rear quarters off and clean, wrap and freeze them or rap in foil and cook on the grille along with the ribs, start from the bottom and work up......its been a while so im probably a little slow now but me, my stepdad and my brother could shoot one and have it ready to cook in a little over an hour.......took about 200-250 pounds of charcoal in our cooker......

Since it doesnt look like Phil is going to step up to the plate here - we had an early Fathers Days dinner for the dads. I just remembered this thread so i thought I better snap a couple of pics...
