Default Starting Problems In A Gasser

This is in a 1995 Geo Tracker 4WD. Nothin but a go kart with a body around it so nothin fancy here to go wrong. It won't start or even try to. Turn the key, the solenoid clicks loud n clear but the starter doesn't bugde at all. The battery is at full charge and no corrosion on any of the terminals, battery or starter. I even put a new starter on it even though the old one checked out good and still nothin.

I know I'm missin somethin simple here cause they're just ain't much to this.

It will start smooth as silk pushin it so I know the truck runs.

Had that happen this summer to a guy at the lake. Tried to jump him with my truck and no go. Thru on the jumpstart charger nothing. We finally disconnected the battery terminals and hook to that and she went. Bad Battery. Try to hook directly to the cables going to the battery

His battery showed good also

I'll hook the charger up directly to the the starter lug and give that a shot then. Seems odd cause the battery checks out good and is at full charge but somethin's not right here and that as good a place as any to try. Thanks Jazzman.

It's attached to the side of the starter.

Dissconnect the batt and use the battery charger directly on the cables. Don't try to jump the starter in the vehicle, you'll see sparks.

The way a lot of batteries are frying now, they are shitting out cells. You can put your volt meter on it and have 12v, try to start and it'll come down well under 9v. I've seen as low as 2v durring load, while unloaded it's still reading 12v.

Oh, if you have an alarm, it could be causing a voltage drop and jacking with everything too.

I'm sure they're is. Never tried it though. Just habit to get in and push the clutch. But wouldn't that keep it from push starting also if that were shorted out.

Also should add that this happened all the sudden. Went right form never having any problem with this issue to it's dead, nothin in between.
