I agree 10000% - MOST of us on here bust our a$$es all week to make sure our families have food on the table and a roof over their heads.
In december '08 the number of unemployed increased by 632,000 to 11.1 million people so that means there is alot of people out there that really need the money. Alot of them are probably collecting unemployment, not because they want to but HAVE to and probably never have before, more than likely they are sitting at home because there are no jobs out there for them to get.
People like you that are laid off right now and alot of the others that didn't just get laid off are probably MORE 'up to par' because we make up most of the workforce in this country.
Claiming independence from the country sounds better and better all the time. I hate voting too, thats wh I'm one of the "losers" that doesn't. This is supposed to be a free country so we CAN have the right to do that kind of thing.
There are alot of ingnorant bastards out there that don't want to work for an honest living. I guess its easier for them to leech off the rest of the working class folks by stealing and killing, then get a court appointed lawyer that WE pay for to get a trial by jury, that WE pay for, and then go to prison so WE can pay for them again. All of these are 'rights' but so is owning a gun, which I WILL use, to shoot the scum if they try to steal from me or hurt my family. Maybe that makes me a redneck or somethin but that is also my right. It just kills me that people that do all this illegal $hit get the rest of the honest country to pay for their 'rights'.

I appreciate you serving for the coutry for 20 years and keeping it free so we can continue to do this and everything else we do everyday but the military is not the only thing that keeps this country what it is. I never served because that is my right, again I thank you for that. Just because an american don't serve doesn't mean we are not doing anything to improve america. You serve to keep america free so we can work and pay taxes so you can still get your check from the military. If the military stops fighting for our rights we won't be free for long, if the rest of us stop working (which means no more taxes paid) america won't have enough $ for a military. "POOR" excuses is exactly what I'm using, I took a 50% pay cut so I could keep my job and not become one of the 11.1 million people in this country that are unemployed and can't find a job.

 

For the record, I am would not mind doing a couple short trials per month. But I am trying to be proactive, and make sure that I do not get stuck on a grand jury or on a trial that I will be out of work for a week or more out of a month. Also, a year and a half ago, I separated my shoulder while working. When you have a separated shoulder, the fix is to walk around for 6 weeks with your arm in a sling. The type of separation that I had tore ALL of the ligaments holding my shoulder together. I couldn't even lift my 6 month old son with my other arm for 4 weeks due to the strain that it caused my bad shoulder for fear that I would hurt it worse and cause permanent damage. In other words, I couldn't do a damn thing for a month and a half and couldn't do much for a couple more weeks after that. Oh, plus hospital bills.
On my truck 1. I did my own work on my exhaust= really cheap. 2. My CAI came from ebay for $40 shipped to my door with my cheap install. 3. The gauges were $300 and I installed myself and they help me make sure that when I am pulling my trailers for work, nothing is out of the norm (kind of a good thing when you don't have much money and can't afford repairing a trans or motor) 4. debadging was done by me too so there you go 5. I got the Smarty for $600 used (other than the smarty, nothing really cost much, and I got that before I was injured and had a meager savings.
Now I am trying to get ahead, so someday in the near future I can do things like this and not worry about paying my house payment after sitting on a jury for a week.
I don't vote mainly because I don't feel that I can make an informed enough decision to make me feel good about my vote. I don't want to go in and just start checking boxes because "I am registered". If you don't like it, tough.
Ramprat, I have noticed that every post you have made gives zero advice and seems to only be there because you feel that you are superior to everyone due to some ego maniacal delusions. Again, just my opinions, just as everyone of your post prove to be. Just opinions.

then they move one to martial arts or military something to boost their esteem (just using examples)

Ahhh, calling me ignorant now... I work 2 jobs along with my little "retirement" but I do go to the VA for what you would call "free" healthcare as I've been judged disabled by the VA's medical board due to service connected injuries.

I will have to say though, Ramprat you are going over the line a little from the word go. Some of the things you have said are very insulting and there is no call for that. There is no reason why this can't be discussed in a civilized manner and we all move on.
