I know I never claimed to be a 'productive member of todays society'.

I don't vote because voting is a right - which means I don't HAVE to vote. I DON'T feel honored to lose my $200 I would make at work to go listen to some 'weasle' tryin to get out of somethin he did that was illegal to begin with. If they want me to serve they need to pay me what I would make at work then take it out of the weasle's ***. Don't tell me I HAVE to go, HAVE to take a huge paycut for the day and make me feel like **** cause I don't go. I have a family to feed and I do it the honest way, I work. If some sap wants to go out and do somethin illegal then he should pay for it. There is alot of homeless/unemployed folks out there that would take the $12 or $13 a day that they would get for it.

You can request a jury trial for a speeding ticket - how big a waste of EVERYBODY'S time and money is that? If I get a speeding ticket (which I have- many) I pay for it and go on about my business.

I understand there is a place for a jury trial. I'm just sayin there are people out there that NEED the $ they make at work and there are people out there that don't work for whatever reason that could use the money for jury duty.

If I'm being forced to do something its not much of an honor, unless of course this is a communist society then I would be forced to feel honored.

i wounder if any one has had a court trial and also gotten a letter to serve jurt duty on the same day.

 

I must admit it's great seeing what kind of people we have here and how serious they take the responsibilities of being a member of society.

It's all about me is truer than ever and just taking a look at the selfish self centered posts about whining and crying how hard things would be if they don't get out of jury duty is no big surprise, let alone trying to rationalize and justify there self centered "poor me" actions. Ohhh I'm going to be out a days wages, or even a couple days wages and then I won't be able to feed my family....... So you never get sick, never get injured and never take a day off to do something other then work. Well that's way to bad you got yourself into that predicament and are living from check to check about ready to slide into poverty and homelessness. Guess you better be selling your diesel trucks and get geo metros due to the price of fuel, but now I'm sure you just "need" your truck to survive along with all the performance modification's that have been done since they are not cheap.

Yet when things don't go there way they are the 1st to whine and cry about things, how they were wronged and how badly they are being treated by the system & "the man" Then they will bitch abouot the shitty jury they had, how they were a bunch of homeless trash and not a jury of there peers, hard working salt of the earth people who know and understand what it's like.

Oh and just for the record, it's not a right but a privilege and everybody who did not vote at all cast a vote for obama & as such we are going to get what we deserve for not taking our responsibilities seriously. People who did not vote can NOT bitch and groan/moan/whine/cry about the President elect or any actions he takes once he becomes the president the 20th.

And again for the record we live within our means & yeppers missing a few days of work will hurt, will make a impact but nothing major like loosing our house since we budget everything and don't live paycheck to paycheck with more toys than we can afford.

It's no wonder America is the way she is now with Americans as self centered as they are...

i was called for duty 3 times already and only lost one day of pay for it. i am sorta in the same money situation. just ride it out maybe nothing will even happen with it. thats what i did and it seemed to work. then if you do go in tell them that you have some kind of issue with the case and they will prolly just pass by you. you will still lose day of work but its better then a week.

i don't think an honest hard working american should sacrifice time out of his like to feed family. the man the people work for what they have and should not be taken away from them!

there are plenty of people collecting unemployment,welfare,disability,college,trust fund babies, kids 18+ still in high school, just graduated and don't have a family to support.

YES, i want unemployed people on a jury for me! I just got laid off. I'm unemployed until April. does that mean I'm not capable of making a rational decision?

I'm a American by birth & one who does not make **** poor excuses trying to get out of ones civic duty and personal responsibility.

Not to mention one that spent 20 years in the service to our country and 7 years to my adopted community.

What have you done to improve America other than be a taker??
