I know im late to the discission. Back when i joined a few years ago this place was the #1 diesel place. I started noticing that people weren't that posting in the older diesel forums. I left and started going to oilburners.net to get my IDI info. But when i got my cummins i came back because it seems like they're mostly anti cummins. I browsed on thread where a newbie wanted to know how to make his cummins smoke. I read two pages of people being down right hateful to the point where the OP didnt come back. Instead of poking fun people should try to direct them in the right way.

The black smoke is a topic we could discuss for days, but you'll find on most of the diesel forums that it's not taken lightly. Some guys just have a hard time saying it nice.

You're not late to the discussion either, as far as I'm concerned this should be on going.

oilburners is a good group of guys for the most part.
They sure know and like their idi's on that site.
A few of their mods are complete dicks though.

It started getting too childish for me with all the arguing and a lot of new members that wanted smoke instead of power. Then chad left and it all went down hill. Thats why I left

Id like to see this site where we can have regular memebers be able to enjoy and talk to each other. Clean up alot of the Repeated threads and so on, even though I am guilty of not using the Search Bar either. Id like to see an area where people who know nothing about diesel can learn about diesels too stickly about a type of engine and fuel systems then have a thread on repair, and then a "Strictly" Diesel in destress only.

i just sat down and read this entire thing. LONG...

ive now been a member of this site for nearly 2 years. i visit it often. 2.somethin somethin years ago i was a total dumbass when it came to smashing grease, i now feel that i have a very good understanding on whats going on. this site has been very helpful to me. there are some very great minds on this site when it comes to diesels. our trucks are the ART and we need these minds to help everyone not just the new/young guys learn something each time they veiw a thread. ive made friends from massechusets to alaska on here. bought and sold on here, been really really pissed off and quite pleased, its a forum! i would love to see more intricate builds, more indepth information of specific aspects of an engine or driveline set-up. this info is so useful, from the bottom to the top of the chain, people learn from this stuff and remember, thats what will make people join and comeback is the knowlege. if people wont share then people wont come. we need diesel wisdom, from the track to the highway, real life experiences, not theoretical BS you can get anywhere. when did your truck fail, pictures of the failures so that people get interested in aftermarket stuff and help our vendors and keep the circle of life going.
