So for a while i noticed my speakers had like a slight distortion to them, sounded something like having the bass up too high, it went on for a few weeks in and out at times that i noticed it and now im coming to realize that i have no bass in my speakers anymore, ive checked all the settings in the head unit and ive never had my bass up enough to blow the speakers, they sound fine but just seem to have little to no bass, any idea on whats going on here? I checked the amp fuse and it looked good, is there a relay to check or something, im dreading having a loose wire and having to take the door apart!

with a truck makein that kind of power who would listen to the radio

 

Sounds to me like a typical capacitor failure.

Check the crossover. Put the wires directly from the amp to the speaker. If the speaker sounds clear, you have a damaged crossover.

 

is the music still distorted with no bass? or is it no distortion now but also and also no bass?
