Default steering wheel controls

I have an aftermarket kenwood cd player in the 02 and I was wondering if they make an aftermarket stereo or a kit to hook it up to the steering wheel controls? the truck came with the stereo so i dont know if there was an option and I have just been wondering. If not maybe i can use the buttons for something else.

You MIGHT want to look into a newer head unit, as I just bought mine (head unit), and while shopping I saw that tehy offer new steering wheel controls based on models. If you are tight on money you might want to look into what 07duri had to say and hope there amy be a linkage kit out there for you.

All I can say is I wish I had got some steering wheel controls, BUT having a remote that you can memorize controls of seems to work just fine for me.

EDIT: If you lose the remote, id recommend what I did in both my old truck and new truck I have now, get some double sided velcro (tho make sure you have somone walk you to it, i got lost in a crafts store, and MAN that was NOT fun ) and velcro the remote to the dash in a convenient location you can stick it to and not have to take eyes too far off the road when stickin it back up.

I think i may just stick with the remote and see id i can wire my lockup controller into them or something. It would be nice to have them but i would have no clue how to get them going again. I may look into a newer head unit too.

As long as your after market radio is remote controllable ,,, Go to crutchfield They sell a peripheral so you can use your steering wheel controls
