Default hard start when hot

so in the morning that 90 7.3 starts like a dream, if i go to town and run into the store for like 2 mins, it starts awsome but if im away for like 10 mins shes real hardto start, like cranks over for 10 to 15 seconds, any idea what causes this to do so,

Could be your IP wearing out as well.

lift pump was done a few months ago(left me stranded at midnight), i also hear that the solenoid(on off switch) in the ip goes bad, can one just replace that unit alone or do i have to do the whole pump?

it sounds like the pump got coldflashed or heat sunk whatever u want to call it. was a hot pump and got cold water thrown on it. warps the pump housing a little

could also be the pump is just going out

Sometimes the pump wears out and the internal tolerances will change. There is a guy on OBN who pours cold water on his IP to get the truck to start when hot. He knows the IP is shot though and is just limping the truck along waiting for a new IP to arrive.
