i got a code pop up for the wastegate solenoid on my '04. The stealer wants 100 bucks to hook the computer up to "diagnose" the problem, i guess my question is how many things beside the solenoid could be wrong when you get the p0243 code to warrant pluging in the computer to do diagnosis? can i just get a new solenoid and be done, or is there more to it?

 

I would make sure there is no damage to the wiring harness for the solenoid. Next, If it were not operating properly, I would also expect to see a code for engine overboost.
