Default 1991 Dodge W250 Power Steering

Hey guys, have you all had any issues with your power steering? I bought my truck last October, and just starting this new year, its been slowly leaking power steering fluid. Well suddenly, about a week ago, after starting it up and moving it about 5 feet backwards and shutting it off, the fluid decided it had seen enough of the reservoir and yearned to escape into the great big world.

By that I mean, the fluid, foamy and aerated, oozed out of the reservoir cap, and all over the pump, and the ground. A couple people have told me that from their experiences, my pump's shot, and I'll have to replace the whole unit. What do you guys think? Any similar experiences? Should I start somewhere else? I just want to avoid putting a hypothetical bandaid on it and having the issue come back later.
