1991 Dodge w250 cummins turbo diesel

I've got a 1990 1/2 1st gen Cummins, my battery was over charging so I swapped it to a single wire regulator but I'm still having over charging problems ideas?

I go through volt regs like once a year
try replacing it with a new one

I've rewired every thing going to the alternator I'm going to take my alternator in to get looked at in the next few days

Our trucks are famous for bad grounds. Both my D250s had a dedicated ground wire run from the reg's mounting screw to neg battery post. But ya, some of these regulators last years, and others maybe only a few months.
