Default TCS input WTF?

so i finally got all the parts rounded up to put this transmission back together. went to drop the pump on and it wouldnt go down. stuck like chuck. finally get it all ripped back out of the tranny and find that the input is wedging on the stator bushing. after measuring 2 stock inputs i have under the bench, i find the the new billet is .004 fatter at the bushing area. the stockers slide right in no problem. the TCS no matter how nice or violent i am with it doesnt like the .004 difference.

first has anyone had this problem and second do they make a thinner stator bushing that addresses this problem?

I believe that's why most end up with the 48re pump ... input size ...

28 spline. and must have been there spec was .001 over stock and the one they send was .004 over their own spec. new one slid right in. Who knows was prolly machined on a friday afternoon or something. and the 47's and 48's are super close to each other.
