Default how much??

sometime during this summer (odd time to have your truck down i know) i am going to pull the motor and put billet rods and some other go fast goodies in it , how much can i bore my motor before i run into big problems? could i sleeve it and do like 60 over or what? any input is appreciated

Good lord why??? Just do 10 or 20 over and some lower compression pistons... get the pistons coated while your at it.

What is your HP goal?

depending on the mileage i wouldnt bore it no more than i had to.

i am knockin on 200k, and i'm lookin for whatever i can get out of the ol' girl, i am fixing to buy a 6.4 so its going to be turned into a hot rod

billet rods are a wast of money unless you are going to try and push 800hp LOL

also boring does nothing for our motors... this isnt a 350 gasser LOL

what kinda HP are you looking to make out of it and we can direct you in the right way to go.

i have the PMRs and i want a lot more then 400 hp to the ground, i want atleast 650, preferably without spray but its going to very hard i know, i want it to stand out and not just blend in, you don't see too many 7.3's in that range anymore

650 on fuel is not that hard at all...


400/200% hybrids, HPO system of your choice, T4 turbo (S-400, GT45, or the likes), Studs, Girtle, some Head Porting and a fuel system and your there.

No rods needed to stay fairly safe at that level.

i will need billet rods though correct? cause after this the truck wont be at low rpm's very often, its going to be a hot rod basically

Low RPM's are what kill rods... high TQ at low RPM's...

You will NOT need Billet rods for a 650hp build. You can if you want to, but you do not NEED them.
