how much??

sometime during this summer (odd time to have your truck down i know) i am going to pull the motor and put billet rods and some other go fast goodies in it :w2:, how much can i bore my motor before i run into big problems? could i sleeve it and do like 60 over or what? any input is appreciated

CSIPSD 04-27-2010 06:21 PM

Good lord why??? Just do 10 or 20 over and some lower compression pistons... get the pistons coated while your at it.

What is your HP goal?

captain_stabbin 04-27-2010 06:23 PM

depending on the mileage i wouldnt bore it no more than i had to.

i am knockin on 200k, and i'm lookin for whatever i can get out of the ol' girl, i am fixing to buy a 6.4 so its going to be turned into a hot rod

billet rods are a wast of money unless you are going to try and push 800hp LOL

also boring does nothing for our motors... this isnt a 350 gasser LOL

what kinda HP are you looking to make out of it and we can direct you in the right way to go.

i have the PMRs and i want a lot more then 400 hp to the ground, i want atleast 650, preferably without spray but its going to very hard i know, i want it to stand out and not just blend in, you don't see too many 7.3's in that range anymore

650 on fuel is not that hard at all...

400/200% hybrids, HPO system of your choice, T4 turbo (S-400, GT45, or the likes), Studs, Girtle, some Head Porting and a fuel system and your there.

No rods needed to stay fairly safe at that level.

Lange503 04-28-2010 12:02 PM

i will need billet rods though correct? cause after this the truck wont be at low rpm's very often, its going to be a hot rod basically

CSIPSD 04-28-2010 12:33 PM

Low RPM's are what kill rods... high TQ at low RPM's...

You will NOT need Billet rods for a 650hp build. You can if you want to, but you do not NEED them.

ok, where can i get some hybrids, and would the terminator pumps be better or the stealth pump? there is also a new thing out check it out here and see what you think of it http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=950
