Default 7.3 with powdered metal rods
I have a 2001 7.3 with powdered metal rods. I would like to make some performance improvements, but am told to be careful due to the rod material. I'm looking for advice as to how far I can go with this engine.

I know people who have done 450 on PMRs but personally I don't think I would. That is getting pretty close to there max HP they will hold reliability

Thanks for the response. I have a followup question, how far can you go with forged rods and stock pistons.

i would not do 450 on those rods, but. i know people who have, so that is why i use that number
