what system would you recommend? Maybe a best for price and best for performance or an overall best value

For an overall good quality, ease of installation, and price... I would shop around for an MBRP system... Like I said before, you can usually find a 4" system with a 3" downpipe shipped for somewhere around 300 bucks... Shop around long enough and some places will throw in a 5" tip for free.

As for your other pipe i think we can probably bend it out a little then as far as the testing maybe a custom dp. weld up the fitting with maybe a 4" or snake it around for a hood stack i'm almost positive i could squeeze a 4" in mine without moving the firewall so yours might. it could be tested at least
Ah. A hood stack. Now that is the ultimate in redneck.

Oh, wait....

With the truck having the factory 240k mile cat/muffler, and not to mention very restrictive piping in the first place, I'm willing to bet between the full turbo back and 6637, I'm good for 3-4mpg (being hopeful...). I found a sweet *** 5" turbo back for a little over $300 shipped; I'm pleased.

I'm not a fan of Banks at all. Entirely overpriced equipment in my opinion. But I do appreciate the input.

Just don't be upset when you don't gain that much....

I cut my stock 220k mile cat and muffler off and didn't gain anything that I could notice... What kind of mileage are you getting currently?

just put downpipe and straight pipe in today. got the 3" down then into a 4" straight. down cost me 89 bucks and the 8 foot piece of 4 pipe and a mandrel bent 90 degree turn out cost me 60 bucks. thought i had it all good till i drove it. down pip almost fell right into place, but now know its touching somewhere. no real noticed increase except noise increase
