97 7.3 hard start or no start
ok a lot of people have something about this but not just like this.
Ok so the truck has been getting harder and harder to start....now it barley starts
once it starts it runs fine full power good mpg no issues.... this happens even when the temp is hot out it did it when it was close to 100 the other day
i changed the gpr and it is good
the glow plugs ohm out good and there is voltage to the plugs and seems the glowplug system is good
i changed the cmp and it started up first try but went back to hard starting the very next time i tried to start it
i pulled the injector pressure sensor no help
the hpop reservoir is full
the fuel bowl is full
even though i changed the cmp with a bwd one not a autozone one it still gets no tach when turning over is that right?
Im stuck now and dont want to keep throwing money at it...any body got some help?

Ok I think it is all good now....the truck seemed to be turning over fast enough but I guess it wasn't fast enough for the hpop to spool up right.......i noticed one of my batteries was over ten years old so i swapped it with the one from my hot rod pick up and wouldn't you Know it fired right up. It fired right up again this morning and it was only 55 degrees (only for San Diego) so I read a little bit about it and hpop trucks really need to have very healthy batteries in them.....I may also change to a gear reduction starter to get better engine speed when starting......thanks for the help
