it doesn't look good. i don't see how you'd get by all the sensors on the PF. been looking at the 07 maxes as i pdi them at work. gonna need some type of code blocker plugged in to where the sensors used to plug into.

I don't think it will be much of an issue, all that needs to be done is find out what voltage the sensor wants to see and supply it that and it will be happy

well yes and know. if the pcm is shooting a volt reference out to the sensors like a TPS or MAP sensor then it should be pretty simple. a couple resistors and you're in. but if those sensors are like an O2 sensor, where they create their own voltage, that could be a problem. i'm still waiting on my d'max classes to come up at work. dodge will prob use the same system. sounds like everybody's is damn near identical.

The Bosch program aspect of the ECM for both the Duramax and the Cummins uses a variable control logic for the downstream oxygen sensors just to make sure they are not tampered with. If the voltage is not within the anticipated range when compared to a series of engine temperature and rpm algorithms the ECM will simply drop into safe mode and you will be lucky to get to 30 mph.

We are getting clean, whether we like it or not!

I wish I had taken better notes at the SAE & ATA/TMC meetings on this topic! I can't remember anything about O2 sensors, but all the systems seemed to include exhaust backpressure sensors, plus 3 thermocouples. The t-couples were inlet, middle, and outlet of the DPF, and were used during both active and passive regeneration modes (burning the soot out of the DPF). I wonder if the exhaust backpressure sensor would trip a code if it does not see the expected backpressure level? As Oregonpharmer noted above, they can include algorithms to defeat simple passive "sensor fooling" circuits.

Regards,
Michael Pliska

Yeah, from what I hear, it is going to be a pain. Sensors everywhere...

I was hearing the same thing... That was one thing that prompted me to get my truck b/f the 6.7Ls were released. I wanted to order one w/ everything I wanted but was afraid I wouldn't be able to, ummm, modify it the way I wanted...

hahaha looks like everyone (who gets a 6.7) is going to have to deal with the emissions crap, not just CA folk. not that im laughing at anyone dealing with the problem, it sucks.

im just glad i found my 94 i just got that has no EGR crap, since it came from outta state originally

edit: no more bagging on just CA for being emissions *****, looks like its a federal deal now

well you just have to wait until someone comes out with a programer that will bypass the DPF system and the o2 sensors, a SCT can shut off the EGR on a 6.0 so someone is bound to make something that shuts off the DPF on a 6.7
