Yes the Smarty will work on your stock truck, even without a DPF or EGR delete. I ran mine this past weekend on the track with NO codes whatsoever. The only thing done to it was an S&B cold air intake.
Like was said before, a DPF delete and EGR delete will be beneficial as well where mileage is concerned. The only thing you won't be able to do safely is run the highest settings.
