I would go with a turbo 400 but tryin to find one around here is like next to possible and if you do they are really expensive and usually toasted. the reason i wanna use the 350 is bc i can have this one for free!!! which is really nice. That and i like the full time 4x4 i have yet to find a 400 around here with a 203 attached. im not expecting a race truck just something i can go out trail riding and go occasionally light field mudding. I would be running a console shifter in it so i can control the shift speeds and add a shift kit to it. Unless someone has a turbo 400 and 203 they wanna sell im probly gonna try and mate the 6.2 to the 350. How long do you think it would last? specially since im planning on turboing it. I have the engine mocked up for the twins pushin about 8-10 psi of boost

no need for twins. just take manifolds off a 6.5 and the turbo and you will be pushing 8-10 psi right there. the th350 should be fine with a shift kit.

I know theres no need for twins but i want it to be something different, and being stuck in the middle of farm land we have farm equipment junkyards i ended up getting turbos off of a couple old international combines dont remember what model they were identical though.. And with the 350 trans i wouldnt just put it in stock and for get about things like a deep pan and heavy duty trans-cooler and a shift kit. As for the torque converter i tried fonding the lowest stall possible but then ran across the problem that a diesel has a larger bolt pattern than a gas converter. do you guys think it would be okay to drill flexplate/ flywheel whatever gm calls it for the smaller gas converter?

no problem with being different just try not to blow it up i would think about some mechanical wastegates. as far as flexplates i dont know a whole lot about them.

Yeah thats very true on not trying to blow it up. I plan on adding a stud girdle and arp head studs. I seen somewhere online here where someone redrilled a 6.2 diesel flexplate to bolt the smaller gas torque converter to but it eventually ended up elongating the holes and destroyed itself. I was told the turbo 350 and turbo400 torque conveters were interchangable so maybe if i find a diesel 400 TC it'll bolt in im hoping

studs and a girdle should hold about 15 psi of boost safetly. yeah i dont think drilling holes in a flex plate is smart. half of the flexplate is already drilled out anyway.

th350's and th400's use the same converter so you could use the th350 with the stock diesel th400 converter... then its the correct pattern for flexplate and the lower stall.

I have seen th350's survive stock bigblock trucks ok so shouldnt be problem as log as you arent doing stupid stuff like burnouts on pavement or drive to reverse drive to reverse real quick while on the throttle

Well im glad someone confirms about the 350 and 400 using the same converter. Im tryin to rely on my dad who's getting older and hasnt work on older chevy's in a while. His memory aint the greatest so thanks guys for answering all my questions.

Yeah no stupid stuff here i learned at a early age breaking stuff costs more money than its worth for the few seconds of fun i had doin it. That and i dont think the 6.2 would have enough power to turn all 4 over bein full time 4X4 on pavement.

Well now i guess i gotta go clean this guys garage out to get the tranny and stuff out. i can have it aslong as i clean up his garage. Then its gonna be the fun part of mounting it in my truck

i would really recomend not using a 203 case, they are poo and the fulltime 4wheel will get annoying quickly, trust me

i don't see how a stock 6.2 would hurt a th350 being a 350 v8 has more power and nearly the same torque...
