Default Oil pump interchangeablility (is that a word?)

Well looking into an oil pump now, i am shoppin at oehq.com and looking at a melling oil pump. Are they good? There is one up to 1996 then another from 1997 on. I heard the 97 on pumps were more of an ho pump due to the oil squirters. I am trying to put this ho pump in my non squirter 599 block. Is this possible? Is the assembly the same? Just bigger internals? I think i asked this before on a random thread, but now cant find it.

Do i need to replace the shaft guide? Check this out, i am sorry if im not supposed to post this link, but it is insane!!! Why so much???
I hope i dont need it...

Melling makes alot of replacement SBC gas oil pumps. Have ran them for along time now with out problem. See if you can find a High-volume instead of High-pressure pump,
