Question about having white smoke

So it could still be glow plugs or the FICM. Have you tested the FICM/batteries yet?

I tested the batteries at autozone and they tested fine, I have family over for the Holidays that are leaving today so I will be testing the FICM this evening or tomorrow morning. Maybe I should check the glow plug harness to make sure it is intact? There were no codes according to the snap on computer.

Start with the FICM, it's easy to test and the failure rate of FICM's is much higher than any glow plug items.

So the FICM checked out ok, before start it was 47.8V, cranking it was 47.8V and after started it read 48V. Cleaned off the EGR valve this morning as well. Not much of an incline where I park but the soot and carbon build up was moist. Not baked on not charcoal gray, but black and moist. Cleaned the valve up and where the valve seats. seems to be running better, however that may just be wishful thinking on my part . Got my filters from dieselfiltersonline.com today and was wondering what size wrench is used to take the horizontal filter cap off?
