Keepin SCT off ECUs
Been looking into get a SCT programmer in some months down the road and been told that if you pull couple fuses from the truck that the the SCT will not go onto ECU memory for the truck. That way if you have to bring it in for warranty work all you need to do is put back to factory settings and place fuses back in. Is this true or being pulled down the wrong dirt road.

Supposedly they don't leave a footprint on a 6.0. I've never had any trouble getting warranty work done, just return it to stock. In my case, my dealer knew about it and didn't care though. Some people will tell you it's morally wrong to do this as you're adding stuff Ford never intended and then forcing them to pay to fix something YOU did. The old saying goes "you gotta pay to play."
If a tech looks hard enough I'm sure they can figure it out. Usually the spray pattern on top of the pistons is a dead give away of running a programmer.

That's a P1000 which is left anytime you flash back to stock. It is a battery disconnect code. You can just say you had charged your batteries if they even ask. This code will clear itself after driving for a certain amount of time, or I've heard cycling the keys 12x will clear it too. I've cycled keys, and I've also just flashed it and left it as is. It is my experience the techs usually don't care at all. It's the service guys behind the desk who ask all the questions.
