Default having a problem

Working on a 05 6.0 got truck cracks fine on a cold start run idles good I can drive it about 5 miles and it shuts down then I have to wait till it cools off and it will crack again... What do I need to start checking?

High pressure oil leak somewhere. What year truck? Search STC fitting (snap to connect). There is a fix for it, it was pretty common.

yes there is a oil leak from the back of the motor i'm thinking it might be a bad hpop i've been reading up on it but i dont wont to start buying stuff and it be the wrong part and im not getting any codes from the truck

and also can a bad hpop cause a slight knocking noise in the motor?

That STC fitting is right there. I'd be willing to bet that's it. Try google searching it or something.

05's notoriously have the worst HPOP too, but I'm still leaning towards the STC fitting.

i took the hpop out tonight and the pump looks fine but the gasket looked like **** so im just gonna change the gasket... but as far as the stc fitting goes the screen was slam full of **** and the fitting had some debris in it as well... do i need to change the fitting same as the screen

If you are already in this far and it's the old style you'd be a fool not to replace it now. It's not if they fail, but when they fail.

Thanks for the info... But I was told what I was doing is just a temp. Fix and it will happen again soon... I pull the dip stick out and there is trash on the end of the dip stick... What is a good way to flush that crap out or Di I just need to drop the oil pan and clean it

I'm not sure why'd you have crap down in the bottom end of the motor!?

It is not a temp fix, it is what everyone uses to fix this issue. Newman just posted the link to the upgrade kit in another thread.

Ok buddy thanks for the info... Fired the truck up this morning its idling fine but did have time to drive it but I'm gonna take it down the road when I get off work today
