How big are you planning on going with everything? What horsepower are you shooting for? Personally, I'd spend that money somewhere else.... for now. If you get to that point, then buy the intake. Or just wait for a good deal to pop up on one of the forums for a nice used one or something. If you insist, I'd go AFE personally.

Well 500+ can be done with an SCT and a bottle of nitrous... if you're going fuel only, 190s, a 62 or 64mm and some good tuning should net you that. Then spray the he!! out of it!

Honestly IMO, the safest DD is just the tune and the spray. Spray really isn't that bad on a diesel or that dangerous if you know what you're doing. Just get a bottle and run it on a WOT switch. That way you only use it when you're racing or pulling or something along those lines, then for 90% of the trucks life you're still just running a programmer. If you want to do it on fuel alone, do the things I mentioned. There will be a lot of other parts you'll need to keep it reliable, ie. supporting mods.

I love my AFE Stage 2 Dry. My truck sounds like a tea kettle and its nice to be able to blow out the filter in about 2 minutes.

Tea kettle probably isn't a term I'd use for it, since that's exactly what they sound like when they're pushing coolant out haha

As far as blowing the filter out. I would not do that personally. It's strongly suggested NOT to do that, as you can cause damage to the filter. If you must, make sure you only are pushing air from the inside of the filter outwards (common sense I know).

Yeah, inside to out with low psi, it suggests using a vacuum. Mdub, you're so freakin precise, I hope you're around when I do my arp install.
