air intake help
 

im lookin for a cold air intake for my truck that works well and also has loud turbo whistle , i know the stock set up is ok but its time to change somethings up under the hood. i have a 04 f250. i heard good and bad about afe, s&b, banks.... also should i get oiled or dry? thanks for the help

i love my quadzilla its made by AFE go dry filter another good one is AEM those are the only two I recomend Dry all the way I dont think ICEBOX has one out for the 6.0 yet but theree another good one I have herd and im not sure if there dry

i love my S&B its the oiled type, no issues yet

so whats the purpose of havin an oiled air filter?

take like a k&n for example, they are oiled, it's how the filter traps the dirt and etc, which is "why" a high performance filter is better

yeah the oil helps trap dirt and gunk in the filter, for a VERY good example, put some tire shine on your tires and drive down a dirt road..... what happens? your tires get COVERED in dust... the oil on the filter has the same effect :tu:

After using AFE's dry filter setup, no way will I go back to the oil mess. I am a true K&N filter hater too. Used them for a long time on my race quads, and they were nothing but a headache and a waste of money. I'd never use one on a boosted application.

i think im gonna go with afe dry but not sure what stage to get and does afe make the turbo sound louder? theres a ford that drive by my house every nite and all you hear is the turbo spoolin until he gets on it :tu:

yes...adding a air intake will make it a lil louder.. but if you wanna sound like a boeing 757 get your self a 4" turbo straight pipe!

03 turbos are by far the loudest. Could be the truck driving by your house has that... I put the stage 1 on because I got it for free and just bought the proguard 7 dry filter. The stage 2's look pretty nice too.
