compound help!
heres whats getting done to my truck, 14mm ve, twins, manual trans with a pulling dual disk from sb, doubler, 4.10 gears, 14 bolt rear, 60 front, 100-150 injectors, head studs, valve springs, intake, intercooler, .84 injector lines, 150+ fuel pump, draw straw or bottom sump, bigger fuel lines, fluid damper, water meth, ported/polished head, if there is anything i am missing please let me know. and yes i know you cant build 500+ hp on a budget but i am fabing, installing, and doing all the work myself so it saves me alot on the cost. and having friends who conpete in truck pulling also helps quit a bit
. i work a lot of hours so money aint much of a issue. its the time to put ithis all together thats hard to find
. you guys probably know how that is.

Thanks RSWORDS.. Its tough just getting to the 400HP level with these trucks let alone 550HP. Really though its not going to make a huge difference what turbos you use to get 550HP. It will be more about the injection pump and transmission you have.
There are a lot of twins sets out there using the good old HX-35 and a 3" hot pipe that make 550HP. Not sure how many VE trucks there are but lots of P pumped and VP trucks.

Now I got another one to start on that I'm looking for 400 streetable horse power.
NEVER!!! hahaha
you are right about me building my own truck, i cant stand watching someone else wrench on my truck let alone paying them to do it. i know the non i/c have head cracking issues so what i think i will do is to buy a second motor from a intercooled first gen. build it outside the truck on a engine stand then when the time comes ill swap it in and keep the original as a spare i can put in if something goes wrong with this one. i do not make crazy money a hour, i make min wage but, i am young, live at home, and work almost full time so the money collects in my account faster than usual. really i want my build to be unique, most the time unique causes issues because of parts becoming custom made and what not. will i be doing aluminum heads? heck no, at least not at 6k a pop. but putting in pistons, connecting rods, cam, stroker crank, gapless piston rings, aftermarket bearings and bolts, the first box on the checklist to cover is the drivability and reliability area, then hp and torque, then paint/body and sound. i think diesel bombers is a awesome website with tons of knoweldge to be learned by listening to others. when i first got my truck it was bone stock, and i had no idea diesels could blow black smoke, make crazy horsepower and torque, and all the other great amazing stuff diesel fuel can do. but now because of you guys i got a truck that i have built myself and will continue to build myself, it destroys most gassers around and is cool to look and and say i built that. i thank all of you guys on here for helping me and hopefully continue to help me with my build. whether ya think i am for real or not. ill start up a build thread hopefully tonight. do you guys know which i/c engine from a first gen is the best one to start tearing apart?

what injectors would you recomend? should i call scheid diesel or ponci's? i want the fuel to be sprayed directly into the bowl, so its as effecient as possible
