so from what i've gathered from most of you is 6x0.16 are the way to go i all ready have 5x0.14 and i want to go bigger soon. i've seen many articles about guys with high powered 1st gens and they all seem to be running 6x0.16s or 6x.018s, so why should 5 hole injectors be they way to go? don't take me in the wrong way but so far no one has really given a good reason as to why 5 hole injectors are better then 6 hole or vice versa. i don't want to spend another $650 on injectors to want to get bigger again.

buy the way does any one know of a shop that will turn my stockers into 6x0.18s?? and how much would it be??

Look at it this way, Bosch quit using the 6-hole design in '94, even though the angle of the jet did not change. There are a few reasons, the technical term is known as low lift needle deviation. Basically, when the valve opens the needle is side-loaded which causes 3 holes to fire, and 3 holes do not. Also, the 5-hole design suits the offset incline pattern found on the 12v injector/combination. Hole size does not seem to be as important on the VE equipped engines, I believe soley due to lack of fuel quantity.

You went from a 4x0.012" 155° to a 6x0.009" 145°, do you still have the non I/C injectors?

yes why?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

4x0.012" 155° to a 6x0.009" 145°
the 10* difference is gonna through the spray off how much will this hurt?

4x0.012" 155° to a 6x0.009" 145°
the 4 in 4X0.012 stands for how many holes in the nozzle? and the 0.012 is the flow per injection
and from .012 to .009 i will loose 90 rwp? or is this from something else? pump was put on a bench and tested all good i popped all the injectors checked the pattern all good whats the pop psi supposed to be?

Send me your 4/12's, I have an idea. 4x0.012" means there are 4 orifices @ 0.012" each, I set the opening pressure to 240BAR.

Weston, All I know is that so far all the high (I'm talking 500+) HP VE trucks are using 6 hole injectors. And these guys didn't just buy one set... They went through all different hole sizes and counts trying different stuff. The one constant so far seems to be that VE pumps like 6 hole injectors. No one has been able to make those numbers with anything other then 6 hole injectors yet. With that said, We have seen nothing of what the VE pump has to offer. For all anyone knows 4 or 5 holes might be better with tune set up to run them. I think the biggest advantage with the 6 holers is the ability to get as much fuel as possible into the chamber with the relatively low injection pressures.

well i'm goen for as much hourse power as my little VE can put out, but like most guys I am on a budget so i can't afford to be spending money with out knowing how it will effect my truck, and most guys seem to be making very high hp numbers with 6x0.016s, which makes me hesitant to mess with, smaller injectors
