there have been good success with added injector holes on the duramax. IIRC the mormon missle runs 10 hole injectors. even if it is common rail and be tuned to the demmands alot more smaller holes do seem a better way to increase atomization.

even with the dmax injectors there have been 14(100%) and 21 hole ones (200%) made. one reason people go with the more holes is for the added fuel plus atomization cause for a cleaner faster burn

Really depends on the bowl design and cone angle.

well the way the 14 hole ones were designed they had two seperate banks of holes to make a 14 point spray pattern.

looked back to where i seen this, and its really not a 100% over with the 14 holes or with the 21 holes

yeah i'd be into that. don't really know much about injectors when you get down to it, but it's never too late to learn

My concern for a high hole count nozzle in a higher hp application is reliability. There is a balance between the amount of holes and the hone size that can be used before the nozzle will fail.

i'll have some cash to play with after the first of the year.. maybe i'll upgrade injectors and have the stocker sent out and made 12 hole pattern for a 100% increase and play around with that.
