My 04.5 has 167,000 miles on it. I have put on two sets of tires, serpentine belt, front axle ujoints (PITA!!!!), and rear driveshaft ujoints. I couldn't tell ya what the guy that had it before I did replaced. My parts that I have replaced have been wear parts though. Unlike my old 96 Powerjoke, we replaced all kinds of stuff on that ol piece. $3500 in motor parts alone over two years? Why you think I have a Cummins???

Ive only got 37k miles on mine, and thus far, the only problem I have had was the LP going out at 22.5k miles, which was replaced under warranty. My dad also has a 2004.5 CTD 3500 similar to mine, but a dually and an auto, and he replaced the stock converter with a banks billet, and he had a front crank seal leak just fixed to the tune of $1000, and now the rear main is leaking, and his tranny just went south today.. so who knows what thats gonna cost. BTW, he's only got 110k miles on it... which is NOT that much for all the work its had.

i used to work in a lube shop quite a few years back and that is where i got my first cravin for a cummins. one of our customers had, or i should say has a 99 1ton dually 4x4 that had 350,000 when i was servicing it. he would change the oil every 3500 miles, dello 15-40, and do a trany service every 7000. i ran into him the other day and to make a long story short, he has 870,000 on it now. 1 injection pump and 2 lift pumps. trannys dont count but 2 of them also. i drove it and it runs like new, amazed me!!
