Default Trans Upgrade?

I was just wondering what yall thought about trans upgrades. I'm not going hardcore with power. Right now I'm at 423/824 without crazy larry or stacked with quadzilla. It slips a bit when I really play. I really don't want to sink thousands into a full billit tranny that I will never really use its potential. What would yall suggest for a mid power safe trans upgrade? Torque converter and shift kit? Thanks for the info, I just want to play safe

since I don't plan to do much hardcore stuff do yall agree that I shouldn't go all out in the tranny. Even now I mostly ride around in stock settings anyway.

Go with a good Converter and VB then down the road get a good rebuild.

you should definitely upgrade the converter, it makes a very significant difference. both of my brothers are running Dave Goerand's converter/valvebody. The parts and customer service are flat out amazing. One is a relatively stock truck (air box, exhaust, Bullydog) that's commuted, the other is a 13+ second 1/4 truck that's also commuted. even on the nearly stock truck, the converter may be the best upgrade you can do!

converter and flexplate are a must. I've seen countless flexplates with the holes ripped out from stock power 3rd gens. if you do a valve body upgrade, which you should just to do it right and be done with it, the band apply lever/anchor is a highly recommended upgrade, as the stock apply levers don't do well with the added pressure.

so call up Suncoast and Dave Goerand, tell them what you do with your truck and be realistic with your future power/use plans.
