Unhappy Does This Sound Correct???

OK, I just installed my TST on Monday night, on the way home it kept defueling and I had no idea why. Found out that my safety features were set way way to low. Reset them tonight and now I am getting really high boost. Here is what happens; cruising about 60ish, boost around 5-10, egt about 700; hit the go petal and boost goes to 55+, egt to 1500+, and I am only going aroung 80-85 with more petal left. I have the smarty set on 8, version 4.01, TST set on level 6 on the egt screen. Not sure about other settings since I just got it, but I do know that the boost controll is turned off and the egt is set at 1650, also the other settings are all lower than 5. As far as I know the TST is turned down really low compared to what it can do, correct me if I am wrong though. Do my EGT and Boost sound correct for stock sticks, CP3, and Turbo? What do I need to adjust? Any pointers would be helpful, I am hoping to hit the rollers on Saturday but not if I can not figure out this combo prior to going. This truck is my weekend driver, I do tow with it and power goal is 500-550 HP, I have a true toy on the way if I want more power.

If you are getting 55+ psi on a stock gasket, turbo and boots I'd be worried. OEM stuff doesn't last that long cranked up that high.

The dual mitres you have are they 5" from the turbo back or something else? If you plan on maintaining that 1500 F you will need big exhaust - really big to cool things down.

I don't know how the TST works but if it is similar to my comp you will want to watch your fueling and timing with the smarty box loaded. I'm guessing some of the EGT is related directly to the amount of fueling you are setting. Dial that down some and you will be presently surprised.

If none of this makes sense, basically get a bigger turbo or turbos and you'll be better off.

I found out from Lloyd Mills that the TST boost fools, so my wastegate is not opening at all, I need to run a line from a source of boost to the wastegate to eliminate the high boost problem.

It is stock exhaust from turbo back to the flex pipe for the 6" stacks, I still have the cat in there also.

The Smarty version that I have loaded is known for having high EGT's and smoke, so I am going to update it tomorrow, hopefully that will help the EGT's some.

I want a bigger charger to go with this one, but it is not in the budget currently, it will be in a little while, but not now thats for sure.

Thanks for the reply.

I did not know that about the TST stuff. Yes that's big problem if not taken care of. Your waste gate is electronic right? If so, why not dial back the TST and get a BD waste gate that's adjustable?
