it depends on what cummins they were on. a vp truck loves the edge the cr trucks love smarty's or efi live. the smarty on a vp truck adds 60hp if I remember correct and 60 hp gain for 650 for the smarty I would think money better spent on injectors.

 

What's the difference between VP and the CR? My next upgrade will be injectors before a different programmer or anything. As of right now I got a 2001 cummins 5speed. Not the HO 6spd. With superchip flashpaq banks big head wastegate BD boost fooler BD elbow orfious K&N cold air and silencer ring MIA and MBRP 4" straight turbo back. Im Guna get a different manifold intake and bigger injectors next. What y'all think???

 

150hp injectors, i hear diesel dawgs has some good ones, and a 62mm turbo, and throw a 3 piece exhaust manifold on there as well. definetly go for an edge comp, you will be happy with that, i run a flashpaq right now, not satisfied with it, you cant adjust on the fly, and you only get three options for power settings. all my buddies has comp and they love it!! Also... You need a bigger fuel pump if you want lots of power, you need to look at an Airdog or Fass fuel system. They run around 5-600 bucks but they are worth it!!

cr is a commonrail injection system found on the 03-up cummins motors weather it's a 5.9 or 6.7

vp is the injection pump found on 98.5-02 cummins motors.

I would not waste time with a manifold on the truck it adds nothing but cost. A 3 piece manifold is nice once you need it like your stock on cracked but they are expensive now. I would stay with 100hp or under injectors with the stock turbo. You can go bigger if your going to get a bigger turbo but you will have to drive by pyrometer.

 

Oh I gotcha! I was guna leave exuast manifold alone but i was Guna get like a banks ram air intake? But I won't if you guys think it's not worth it. I planned on puttin 100hp injectors in after I get a air dog or fass fuel system. I really jus want it to run and pull really well but also try and keep pyro etc. down if all possible. I am also stayin with stock turbo for now don't have the money or really need to upgrade stock one.

 

the money spent on a banks or any ram intake is for looks. I never gain a hp with ats one or a banks one. stock made the same hp.
