High hp question...
Just to be clear, here is my general POV on this topic:
1st GEN: Rough, primitive, powerful Cummins
2nd Gen: Rough, less primitive, powerful Cummins
24v: Less rough, better tech, powerful Cummins
CR: Not rough at all, best tech, powerful Cummins
Note: My 1st Gen is still my DD and could outrun the CR before it got a Smarty. I have ten time more money in the 1st Gen and it is now slightly slower.

Dont forget studs if your pushing big boost! And in my opinion you can get crazy hp out of p-pumping a 24v 2nd gen cummins so i believe its a good idea but its also going to cost you if you buy the whole kit new. Good luck!
a lot of good info here fellas. mucho appreciated. everyone is gonna have their own opinion, but thats what i was looking for. opinions with backup and that's what yall have given me. from what i can gather, it will be hard to go wrong with either motor. built right, they each have their advantages. i have a decision to make.
