Unhappy nv5600. need help!

i have the nv5600. ive had a southbend dual disc 3250 in the truck for prob 4 months. i tow a boat every other day and i sled pull every other weekend. i seriously doubt i burned my clutch up. but im not sure. the clutch i believe is rated 500 h.p and 1000 ft'lbs witch im prob 500 h.p or more. i recently was at a sled pull and on my last pull it felt like i spun the clutch. i was told that my hydros went out. witch dosent make sence to me. i cant put the transmission in any gear 1,2,3,4,5,6 or rev. while the engine is running. but if i put it in 3rd gear with the truck off and start it i can relese the clutch and float the gears. another reason why i doubt the clutch is toast is i did a 3rd gear powerbrake today and the clutch held all the power and smoked 37 inch tires? im no expert on transmissions but i think my syncros are messed up or something. any info or help would be great.

sorry if spelling is wrong im in a hurry.

When you say you cant get it in gear does it grind? or does it just not want to go into the gears?

Synchro's sounds like to me. The 4500's have that problem too. Sometimes trying different synchro mesh fluids help. I am using royal purple right now but not really impressed with it. The syncros on the 4500 have a bronze sync ring with some friction material bonded to the inner tapered cone, when the friction material gets worn down it causes grinding gears between shifts. I would try changing to a different fluid first and examine the fluid that you drain out for metal and debris.
